LUE3004 IELTS Preparation
As part of the portfolio assessment, students are invited to visit our Visiting English Tutors. We recommend booking a Writing Tutorial (for help with the writing test), a Speaking Tutorial (for help with the speaking test) or an IELTS Tutorial here.
LUE1002 University English II
You may be asked to meet with one of our Visiting English Tutors if your LUE1002 Unit 3 Writing Diagnostic feedback is a cause for concern. Poor performance in the diagnostic will not in itself result in a lower course grade (do not worry), but the tutor can deduct engagement marks in your continuous assessment if you do not attend at least one session with ELSS before week 7 (to discuss how the service could offer you support).
Tutors may also refer students to ELSS after Unit 4A (the debate task). After you have met the ELSS service at least once after such a referral, it is students decision alone whether they wish to return for recurring sessions (but it is highly recommended if your tutor has noticed specific weaknesses that you attend one session before week 7).
Academic Workshops
Our workshops are group sessions that align with CEAL course material. This semester, we will be running workshops that will help you figure out, identify and correct some of the most common mistakes or problems found in Lingnan students’ written assignments.
