Michelle Singhof

Hi! I'm Michelle Singhof and I am from Germany. I found my way to Hong Kong in 2020 to study Biochemistry and Cell Biology at HKUST. While I have a science-background with multiple years of lab experience, my interests are all over the place - I love learning a bit about everything! I have a creative side and enjoy working with textiles, including crocheting pieces for local fashion designers. At the same time, I'm really interested in language teaching and learning and have worked as a German and English tutor since high school. I find it fascinating to see how different people approach and think about language, what struggles they face and what comes to them easily. I'd love to hear about the things you study, what you're interested in in your day-to-day life, and share my own experiences with you, while also helping you achieve your English-learning and academic goals. Come say hi to me anytime!

Hello! I’m Angela Arcay from the Philippines. I majored in Accounting at Lingnan University, where I graduated with a degree in Business Administration, My passion for teaching started back in high school while helping my classmates with subjects like Mathematics and Geography. Later on, I tutored students preparing for the HKDSE in Mathematics and English, and also taught English pronunciation to young children. Through these experiences, I’ve come to really enjoy supporting others in their language learning journey. When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me working on puzzles, playing video games, or watching movies, TV series, and anime. Having been a Lingnan student myself, I know what it’s like to adjust to university life here. So, if you ever need support or just want a friendly chat, feel free to visit the ELSS Drop-in Centre!
