Last night’s performance of the Maidenhead Youth Ensemble was a marvel and has served to i) support this newspaper’s view that we need to invest more in the arts movement for the young. The ii) group consists of a small orchestra, but a large iii) band of singers , and the iv) programme included a superb solo by the young piano v) genius from Marlow, Adrian king, whose interpretation of Rachmaninov is second to none. The vi) place for the concert was a local church, which made for a very atmospheric evening, and the acoustics vii) made it possible for us to appreciate the sols as much as the full ensemble pieces. With groups like this it is possible to viii) pick out stars of the future, like young Adrian, and that is where local arts council funds should be channeled.
